From the Airport to Downtown Vancouver
If you're flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR), the Canada Line SkyTrain connects the airport directly to downtown Vancouver in 25 to 30 minutes. From Waterfront Station you can walk to either the Hullo Ferry terminal (Gate 1, near the Harbour Flight Centre) or to nearby bus connections for Horseshoe Bay to catch BC Ferries.
From Vancouver, by Ferry
BC Ferries
Sail from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo (Departure Bay), a scenic crossing of about 1 hour 40 minutes. Book ahead at bcferries.com, especially if bringing a vehicle. August sailings fill up fast.
If travelling via Victoria, take BC Ferries from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, then drive north up the island on Highway 1 and Highway 19. Allow around 2 hours from Victoria to Coombs.
Hullo Ferries, foot passengers only
A fast, comfortable crossing from downtown Vancouver to Nanaimo Harbour in about 70 minutes. From YVR, take the Canada Line SkyTrain to Waterfront Station (25 to 30 minutes), then it's a short walk to the Hullo terminal at Gate 1, near the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre. Visit hullo.com to book.
From Nanaimo, Coombs is around a 40-minute drive. Car rental or taxi available at the harbour.
By Air
Nanaimo Airport (YCD)
A 20-minute flight from Vancouver with car rentals available on-site. The most straightforward option if you're flying in.
Seaplane, Vancouver to Nanaimo
A scenic 20-minute flight departing from downtown Vancouver directly to Nanaimo Harbour. Harbour Air and Kenmore Air both operate this route.
Parking
Once you turn onto Schafers Road, please park along the road before the property and follow the signs for 'Airies and James Wedding' parking.
